funky film on water surface

I have a funny film on the top of my water?
I have done one small water change
Tomorrow will to 25% water change
But I don't know what to do
Any suggestions will help

increase the flow at the surface.

You might try cleaning the algae out of the teeth of the overflow if your tank has one.

Mine gets a surface film when the overflow is seriously gunked up with algae...clean it out and within minutes the surface is clear.

if you lay a piece of plastic wrap on the surface of the water and then pick it up the film will stick to it.

What is your filtration like? Do you have an overflow?

An overflow should deflinately help if you dont have one

I was getting the same thing in my tank. come to find out it was protiens floating on the surface of the water. I added a protien skimmer and directed a power head toward the surface of the water and walaa, scum gone.

OK DID WATER CHANGE ADJUSTED PROTEIN SKIMMER
AND ADDED SOME FILTER FLOSS FILM IS GONE
YES i HAVE AN OVER FLOW
