250mh on 150 ballast?

hey guys,

just wondering what happens if I run a 250 w mh bulb on 150 watt ballast?

The bulb may not even fire, but if it does, it'll be grossly under driven and you won't get the performance out of it. Ballast wise, the bulb will want to draw a lot more than it can give and you may burn out the ballast. Just match up bulb and ballast to avoid any unwaranted issues.

Current Tank Info: 150gal mixed reef. ER CS135, 65gal sump/fuge with a Mag12 return. (2) Korillia 4s, (1) modded MJ1200, two SunSun 3200gph powerheads. 250+lbs LR.
