Need quick advice on flow for my 40Breeder
Okay, ive read tons of other post, but let u know If you think I should increase flow
40Gallon Breeder 20L Sump Eheim 1250 Return pump (275ish GPH) 2 Rio 600 - 200 GPH Total: 675ish GPH / 40 = 16x So should I throw another powerhead in there? So far my tank has been mostly fish only but now I have some zoos and aniemnies and I wana make sure they are getting what they need. |

Mnestroy I have a 40 breeder also. I have a total of 1975 GPH in the tank from my nanostream 6025, Seio620, MJ1200, HOB AC70, and my skimmer. That about 49x turn over. My tank is mixed SPS/LPS, and afew zoos. My fish and corals loves the current. If you position the the ph right you will not have a sand strom, I'm thinking about replacing the the MJ1200 with another nanostream. Your flow is good for what you have now but if you do decide to go SPS I would recommend that you have atleast a 30-35x turn over rate.
