Guppies into salt
If i want to put guppies into my tank for feeders do i need to acclimate them if so for how long??

I have been cycling my tank for a month now with 75lbs of live rock when do I add the salt???? click the red house to see pics of my old tank....the better pics are at the bottom :D Current Tank Info: Back to the drawing board!! |

I tossed mine in, and they lived... until the psycopathic blenny went gun-ho on thier butts

yeah i tossed it in and it lived long enough for the clown to eat it but my comet who i was trying to feed still hasnt eatten it swam in front of his face and nothing

it may be because it doesn't see the guppy as food, or it wants the food to sit in there for a while before deciding to eat it.
to help get the guppies up to par for saltwater feeding, feed them marine grade flake foods

If you are just wanting to put them in and have them eaten, just throw them in, no sense spending time acclimating something that is going to be eaten within minutes.
If you actually want them to live, try a slow drip acclimation for a couple of hours.
