::Whats your dream tank? Cost isn't a Factor.::

My opinion of the best tank (a.k.a dream tank) would be

-a tank that measures 84*84*36 which is about 1100 gallons with external overflows capable of 2000 gallons of flow
-16x 400 watt pheonix 14k DE halides
-1220 gallons of filtration and frag tanks
500 gallon refugium/sump
500 gallon sponge/plenum tank
200 gallon frag tank (60"*60"*14")
30 gallon rock rubble tank which would drain into my main tank (copepod propagation 13*24*24)
-10 ft by 1.5 foot skimmer with a zillion wooden airstones along with 5 recirculating NW pumps
-Calcium, phosphate reactors
-pool solar heating system outside connected to reef for cooling during the winter.
-Chillers
-emergency drains
-Controlled by computer
-20kw generator with 200 gallons of diesel allways stored if such an occasion occours.
-CL system with computer controlled valves with a deticated written program to run them
-An automatic topoff system with kalk dosing controlled by a computer
-ozone also computer controlled.

I want to hear your ideas!

That pretty much says it all. I like the dimensions of the display!
What about some solar tubes for a little real sunlight?

This is pretty funny, I have this file saved on my computer.

The top area is full blown reef, the left is seagrass bed (they are connected, the fish can swim back and forth). The right side is separated and is for aggressive predatory fish (eels, groupers, lions). The middle tank is for community fish that can not go in reefs, like larger angels and butterflies. I'm imagining a room wrapping artound the back of the "U" tank.

A swimming pool sized outdoor reef, all natural sunlight, solar heating for summer, propane tank for heating in winter. No filtration what so ever, maybe 10,000 pounds of Large Dead rock, and 2000 pounds of LR to seed it. 12-24" DSB across the entire pool. Probably freeform, something around 50'x20'x10'deep. I guesstimate initial cost of 50k, check back in about 5 years =)

I agree, except I would place it in a house that is ocean front that way you could put a type of circulation system that would be connected to the ocean and therefore have natural filtration. (never have to do a water change ever again (LOVE IT!!!!!!)

But on a more normal, down to earth version a 120"x 36" x 24" would really tickle my fancy.

I like the one that Home Depot guy built in Atlanta. It's so cool people pay to see it. I don't think I would need whale sharks though. What did he spend, like $220 million?

I'd like to have the Georgia Aquarium. The 6.2 million gallon tank.
