DE Light Bulbs...Help Me Choose...

Aquired a second hand Spacelight with 3-250watt and 2-150watt bulbs. I need to get new bulbs but dont know what would be a good combination for sps. I want it to look as white as possible on the blue side rather than the yellow side. Please help!!!

maybe pheonix for the 250's
i don't know much about 150 w but i would think 10k would balance the blue out.

and thanks for the compliment; i like the wrasse as well, though he has a bad habit of eating acro crabs and any other small inverts crawling around the tanks that he can get to. i watched him yank a large bristelworm out of a rock and then he kept biting at it as it rolled into a ball, finally he was able to grab an end and he sucked him in. he has a set of jaws on him, you can hear him chomp down on mysis at feeding time.

while you have it open for putting bulbs in, slide some of the reflector out so you can inspect the wires/ballasts. i have seen several accounts of them catching fire (including my 2x250). i think it's because they didn't account for the extra heat from the 220v transformers they had to add to run their 220v ballasts on our 110v power (rather than just finding 110v ballasts). look for cracked insulation on the wires and brittle plastic terminals on the ballasts. hopefully they redesigned long ago and yours doesn't have this problem.

Mine has a remote ballast and all the connections and wires look really well put together.
