bulb shuts off

i got a 175 se bulb(new) and after a couple minutes it will shutt off...is it a bad bulb or did i buy a wrong bulb...ie pulse start bulb shoulda been probe start or vice versa? not sure how to tell the difference of which i need...i bought the fixture used and it had a coralvue bulb in it but i replaced with a different brand..cheap ebay bulb

If the ballast is good, I would say bad bulb. If the ebay bulb is a plus, definately say bulb.
