Skimmer needed for a small space
Can anyone recommend a quality skimmer (for a 25 gallon tank) that will fit in a compartment that is 4 inches deep by 8 inches wide? Height is not an issue.
Thanks for the suggestions! Eric |

Nope. Not gonna find one ready made. I had a similar problem and ended up building my own... 4" deep (with pump, so the body itself is 2" wide), and 5" wide. Works off a Maxi-Jet pump (Mj600 for a 15" high one, MJ1200 for a 22" high one). Kills a remora, and I bet it it kills the new Deltec MCE300 as well...
You can see it come to life at the bottom of this page... cheap to make... $10 in acrylic, some electrical conduit fittings, PVC, etc. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/inde...c=58540&st=140 I have refined the design over time to perfect certain things.. I even have one with a bubble-plate like a Bubble-King! Let me know if you are interested in building one, and I can send you more info. |

Wouldn't this bad boy do the trick?

There it is. You have to right-click the page and pull up the page properties to get the direct link. Good suggestion though... perhaps the best one really. I always forget about the nano DOC skimmers. |
