Heres a quick description I found:

http://www.tropicalfishoutlet.com/Fi...=521&FishType=

Great fish, like every fish they do have a personality, some are more aggressive then others.

I plan to get one myself for my tank.

I had a 2 1/2 Flame hawk housed in a 55 with a Long nose hawk.. got along fine... once in a while the flame would dive bomb a hermit just to fester it.. ( Territorial I guess ) but NEVER saw or noticed them killing shrimp... They were housed with pairs of cleaners, blood, Peppermint and a coral bandid shrimp... put it this way I was more scared for my shrimps from the Coral bandid than both of the hawks.... love those hawks... Does have lots of personality like a blenny..

We have one- Duece after Duece Bigalow, haha. I think that this wonderfull fish will usually be ok w/ others that were in the tank FIRST, but might go after those newcomers after him. Ours has been a little mean to newcomers at first.
I tihnk they are crazy fish & so much fun to watch!

Great little fish with loads of personality. "MS. Google Eyes" is the favorite of friends and family. It's so funny to hear them "speak" to her as they come to the tank or walk by. LOL! She's really friendly, except to my mom. The hawk positively bristles when she see's her and then gets outta sight. Weird but funny.

As for shrimp: I can't keep them. The strange thing was, I had the hawk and a pair of shrimp together in the tank for nearly 8 months, she never bothered them. Then, bam, they come up missing within days of each other. I tried again with an extra large shrimp she stalked and killed it before I could get the shrimp out.

Littlefoot - the hawk has never tried to jump, not saying they won't but this one hasn't.

Yeah I bought one about a month ago. My tang was the favorite before but the hawk is now my favorite. I spent $40 on him. It took a coulpe of minutes to decide if I wanted to spend $40 on a fish this early in my hobby but i was not disappointed. It's by far the most intriguing fish in the tank. Go get one.

We had our hawk in a 10g tank w/ no top ( came down w/ ich) w/ 2 clowns. Never have had a problem w/ jumping. ( knock on wood)
I would try a few stores if they carry the flame hawks & try to get the one w/ more personality. I have seen a few others that just don't seem to be a personable (if a fish can be?) as ours. You will know which one when you see him( or her?)

I have a flame and he doesnt hassle my shrimp or hermits. He has an amazing personality and is everyone who sees my tank for the first time notices my flame first. He has these amazing eyes that watch you walk around the room and when you feed him.
