black fungus???
ive recently noticed a black type fungus growing on some of my live rock and it seems to be spreading quickly.... theres some on my sand now too. it looks like a black film over the sand/rock.
i was wondering if anyone knew what it is and a way to treat it if its bad.... looks bad to me because it looks like its going to smother all the life on the rocks thanks for the help.... -Jolson |

I have some of the same stuff. Very cottony looking. I use my turkey baster and suck it up into the turkey baster and then once out of the tank shoot the stuff down the drain. I asked a marine biologist what it was, but he could not point me in a direction based on my description. I have used a tooth brush on this stuff too, but stopped cuz I figured it was just spreading around the tank. I cant put up a photo cuz I did a good cleaning yesterday and pretty much removed all I could see.

i do not have a digital camera currently but i will try to find a photo online and post it... but yeah gmax its just like that and spreading rapidly.... kidna looks like oil on my rocks or on my sand
