Algae out of control!!
I am at a loss as to what to do about this as I am new still fairly new to the hobby. I have LOTS of red slime algae all over the place. It is even growing on top of my sand. It seems to start out as what looks like bubbles then the red moves in later. PLEASE help me out! THe last time I tested my water it was fine. I am planning to test it again this afternoon and have scheduled my weekly water change for tomorrow. I will include a picture of this later tonight after I get home and can get the picture taken. I am just looking for HELP!! I also have this green fuzzy looking algae cropping up. I may need to add more snails ot something. I don't know.

Couple of questions...
How old is your tank? Do you use RO/DI water? Do you run a skimmer? How much flow do you have? Can you list your water params for us?

The red slime is cynobacteria. It offten occurs in new tanks or in areas of low flow.
