Can someone ID this?
This started growing on some rock about 2 months ago. It's the rust colored thing in the middle, it sort of looks like tree fungus...

sorry at this point, still too hard to tell, maybe maroon coralline algae?

It's not Corraline,best description I can give is whorled, like tree fungus, the stuff that grows on old wood. It has a slightly lighter color around the edges...and seems to have the same substance as mushrooms, if that makes sense. I wish I had a better camera , and better photo skills.
