Timeline on tank health
Hi,
I need cleaner crew , and live sand advice please. I just tore down my 3 year old 30gallon reef, scraped corraline, remove and dipped rock, (kept out 15lbs of the 40lbs. for cooking) & took all the live sand out and chucked it. Cleaned all equiptment. Added more flow. Now bare bottom. I want to add sand soon. I Replaced with 60% old water . I will keep all lights off until tomorrow, hald day only to keep the algae down. My Sinularia and 2 clowns seem fine at this time, it has only been 2 hours since I finished putting all the critters back. I found I only had 4 snails left and 2 hermits. I could not find my 2 sallylight foots which I put in last month....my sand was fairly compact and not smelly at all ,as I would expect. Who do you suggest I order a new cleaner crew from please? Also, how long before I know if I have shocked or damaged the rock or corals? I was very careful to keep all water parameters equal during the transition period. Thankyou for any help. megret |

I usually just buy snails locally for cleanup.
Time will tell about the corals. I'd watch the ammonia level for signs of trouble, although usually such rebuilds don't cause problems.
