RO/DI float valve water hammer

I have a Kent Float Valve attached to a RO/DI float switch. I've noticed water hammer when the float valve is trying to close. I've checked the switch and it works fine when I totally shut off the water flow with a JG Speedfit valve.I've examined the valve, and it looks like a dribble of water is coming out from the seal. Do I just replace the washer for the seal?
