icecap MH nightmare
i have 2 400w MH lights on my 180 gallon - every time i install a new bulb i have to jury rig it as the screw-holes that attach the endcaps to the reflector are the wrong distance from eachother - meaning that the bulbs just dont fit - Icecap is not responsive claiming that its impossible for the problem i have to occur - has this happened to anyone else? Yes i am using Icecap bulbs.

Not sure if this is the answer your looking for but... Determin the length needed for the MH bulb then tighten the screw so it doesn't move when you have to replace the MH bulb.
Keep us posted. Mel |

yes - the holes dont line up correctly to fit the bulbs - if i drill new holes wont i have to tap them for the screws to fit? or would a standard sheet metal screw be ok to use

Are the bulbs double ended? If so the bulb along with the endcaps should be one universal piece, yes it won't be secure but you won't have to worry about it falling into the water or something like that. You can send them back to Ice Cap and let their tech department look at them if you have supplemental lighting in the mean time while its getting repaired.
