Calcium Reactor Set Up

I have all the equipment set up under my stand. I have heard some different opinions of where to set the PH monitor and how many bubbles per minute I should use. My PH right now is 7.9. I have the probe in a jar and set at 7.5 and about 1 bubble a second.
Please give me some feedback and I really do not understand what results each part causes. Thanks.

My Reactor tests the affluent water. What do I want to have this read? I read the article in reefkeeping, referenced above, and I know I need to slow things down a bit.

That PH is very high for accomplishing what you need it to do. You need to get the water inside the chamber to 6.6ish

That would be the same as the affluent testing, correct?

Yeah your effluent will be the same ph as what is in the chamber (or close enough)

The media breaks down at a ph of 6.6ish. If you ph is 7.6 then you are just sending water through it with no breakdown of media. You lower the ph by increasing CO2

I use a Geo Reactor and have my probe inside the chamber of the reactor. I have my ph regulator set on 6.6. I dont worry about bubble count as when my reactor needs co2 the regulator will put some in and when it has enough it shuts it off. Has worked very well for me

Thanks for the helpful hints. Does the amount of water going into the rector have anything to do with the PH?

Well, you can only put in the same amount that is taken out once the reactor is full. The more you run throught he reactor the more co2 you will use
