VHO Duration?
i am planning on a 180 gallon- 240 gallon aquarium, and being it a fowlr, possibly a reef in the very distant future, i would like to know how long vho bulbs last, should they be icecap or uri. do they last as long as t5? if so the are worth the investment, if they last as long as pc, then i might as well go with pc.
thanks for any input you can provide |

On the Ice Cap ballast, you should get at least 9 months out of the bulbs, normally. I like the actinic blue look from VHO bulbs. It really looks nice IMO. Much better color than what I have seen from PC or T5.

I have replaced mine every 8-10 months. Whites/Blues. Icecaps.

I believe the actinic vho's will last 2-3 years. I would double check in the Icecap forum though
