Filter Sock or No Filter Sock with Refugium?

We just added a refugium to a 72gal - 2 month old tank. It has a filter sock -- we've read those who say to keep the sock with the refugium and those that say it will catch all the pods?

What do you guys think?

Thanks

I think it depends on which way the water is going in the sump..

My water comes down to a sock in chamber 1. Goes to fuge in chamber 2.. return pump in 3 .. so they should filter into the main display
