Skimmer advice for 140g system

I'm in the planning stages of a new 95g display with a sump size TBD (50g?)

I currently have a Deltec MC500 Skimmer that I'm happy with on my 25g but am skeptical of it being able to handle 140g it's rated by Deltec at 100g fully stocked and 170g normally stocked.

If you were me, would you sell the MC500 and get something different, try it first then decide or just plain keep it.

If I do decide on getting a new skimmer I'd like it to be external from the sump. Any suggestions welcome.

i would sell it and upgrade to a APF600. i would always follow the heavy stocking suggestion.
