Does anyone have any experience with these? I am just looking for some input
This is the one I was checking out: http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...Code=denitrate

I don't really get what they mean by no feeding required.

Not sure about the one you listed, but the one that H&S makes only needs the sulfur media replaced about every 1.5 years, so basically no maintenace or feeding. Also, the H&S unit uses very little electricity and doesn't look as complicated. HTH |

I like the idea to doing nothing with for extended periods of time. I have enought aquarium stuff to mess with already.
The thought of using Sulfer seems kinda weird/dangerous to me.

Oh, I see. That makes sense now.
How long have De Nitrifiers been around? It seems to me that I am just noticing them now. I guess having a nitrate problem kinda helped me along though.

They have been around for a while now. In the past, some of them have been notorious for leaching trates back into the system if not monitored regularly.
This seems to be the reason while most people avoid them. However, I'm sure plenty have had great success with them. I have never used one, but now that these sulphur units are out (both deltec and H&S), I have been interested to see more results. I'm not really sure what makes them better other than the lack of feeding. Jim

i have a midwest aquatic sulfur nitrate reactor and it brought my trates down from 40 ppm to 0 in about a month, well worth the money.

I picked one up and installed it just over 2 weeks ago. It's still cycling, but I'm looking forward to 0 nitrates!

sulphur denitrators do not require feeding if done properly. Some of the old styles of denitrators required feeding. It will take aprox 1 week to get your unit cycled after that it is just set it and watch the nitrates drop. A very good investment for your tank.

What type of tanks do everyone have their sulfur/nitrate reactors on, FOWLR, REEF, MIX REEF? How do your corals behave?

you can use to phosban reactore and connect 2 of them to get the same quantity or total media volume , you can mod the outlet smaller to control on small drip (1-6 per second ) and to connect small maxi jet 400 to feed it .
basicly it's work the same . |
