Bio Balls replacement and UV filter replacement?
How often should they be replaced? Just trying to get everything in top shape is all....

uh....with bioballs, I'm assuming you have a wetdry. If that's your primary biological filter then you don't replace. You can rinse off with salt water to "de crudify", but you don't replace.
UV bulbs usually last about a year.

It's a medical term. Doctors do that. (My apologies to Geena Davis in Long Kiss Goodnight)

While I have your attention... _ am thinking of using chemiclean to take care of cyano problem but am worried about my green mandarin and its food source... Will the treatment kill either one of them? And if only the copepods then how soon before i start adding them again???

Uhm.....chemiclean DOES kill cyano, but it makes a pretty big mess generally speaking. I would try to correct your phosphate problem instead.

Eh. If you quell the phosphates, the cyano goes away and you don't need chemi clean. You don't add antibiotics (essentially what chemi clean is I believe erythromycin) and you don't need to worry about impact on copepod population if any. granted if this is a long term mandarin, then most likely either you have a RAGING copepod population or the thing eats other foods

I dunno. I am not a fan of the antibiotic cyano eliminators. Like I said. Tend to make more of a mess than help ultimately. I don't actually think it'll affect the mandarin one way or another, unless I am forgetting something about mandarin skin or something
